The state of Illinois has some strict gun-control laws. Cook County, which encompasses most of Chicago, also has additional gun-control laws and then the city of Chicago has even more stricter gun-control laws.
If the arguments used by anti-gun liberals are valid, Chicago should have one of the lowest gun violence rates in the nation, however, the opposite is true. Over the past several years, gun violence in the Windy City has been increasing, not decreasing.
With the weekend being the Easter weekend, one would expect some peace and quiet in the heavily gun-controlled city but that was not the case. In just 18-hours on Saturday, 29 people were shot.
