Muslims in Indiana are outraged after a billboard titled “The Perfect Man” went up with facts about their “prophet” Mohammed. They believe that the sign spews hatred and lies about their religion….but the sad part is that the facts aren’t wrong. So why are they so upset? Perhaps they are embarrassed for everyone passing by to know the truth about Islam’s holy prophet?

The billboard can be seen on Interstate 465 from the southbound lanes on the east side, near the Washington Street exit.

The billboard, which has been up since at least Friday, can be seen by thousands of drivers coming in and out of Indianapolis every day.

Its message, say members of the local Muslim community, promotes hatred of Muslims and their faith.

“As a Muslim and an American, I’m outraged,” said Rima Shahid, the executive director of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. “I didn’t think there was room for hate in our city and our state and this billboard tells me otherwise.”

Shahid is a Hoosier, born and bred, but says the billboard’s message makes her increasingly feel unwelcome in her own home, a state where she says three percent of the population is Muslim.

“So most people have never met a Muslim and these billboards and these things people that have never met a Muslim will probably think they’re true and it’s simply not the case,” said Shahid.

Do they have room to be upset? Should the billboard be taken down?
