The trouble with many far left anti-gun liberals is that their abject hatred for guns causes them to be incapable of understanding why people buy guns for protection. In their post, they are stymied that so many people run out and buy a gun after a mass shooting, especially in areas near the shooting. The concept of self-defense seems to escape all logic among far-left liberals.
Nicole Hockley lost her 6-year-old son, Dylan, in the 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. On the day of Dylan’s memorial, the National Rifle Association issued a statement about the shooting that left 26 dead, mostly children.
“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” said the association’s executive vice president, Wayne LaPierre.
Hockley said LaPierre’s comments come from the “false rhetoric” that often follows mass shootings.
“How do you recognize who the good guys are?” she asked. “How does arming ourselves with more weaponry make us a safer society?”
CNN people need to be asked what they would do if someone broke into their home and threatened them or their family members – spouses and kids? I’ve asked this question of others and in one case, without me asking, a woman divorced her husband when she found out he would not defend her or their three daughters.
