Was your first reaction to that photo, “Awwwwwwww!”, because mine was! How adorable is this? Not the fire obviously, but the firefighter holding a beautiful fawn that he saved!

While a wildfire is scoring near the Florida-Georgia state line, it has burned nearly 100,000 acres! It was sparked by a lightening strike, staring flames in the Okefenokee Swamp, on April 6.

Sadly enough, officials have said that the West Mims fire is only eight percent contained. They are doing everything they can to get this beast under control!

According to Fox News,

They predict it could burn a quarter of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge before it turns one month old.

However, this little fawn has nothing to worry about. Here is the Facebook post that was shared on the refuge’s page:

The post reads, “You guys have heard the Smokey Bear story, right? So this might be the start of something BIG!!! Who wants to name the “Bambi?” Better yet, who wants to write a song about the rescue of this little dude? He (she?) was removed from the Chesser Island area just before a tactical burnout – so safe and sound! #firefightersrock! #westmimsfire#okefenokee.”
