Nathan Enders, Laura Enders, and their two children, Jaden and Eli, were tragically killed in a plane crash in Florida on Saturday.

Clay Connolly, Williston’s deputy chief, confirmed the deaths, and The National Transportation Safety Board is now reportedly investigating the situation.

Nathan Enders was an air traffic controller who worked at the FAA Terminal Radar Approach Control in Peachtree City, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said. The family lived in Williamson, which is southwest of Griffin.

Although the plane, a 1948 Cessna 170 registered in Texas to Nathan Enders, crashed at Williston Municipal Airport about 3:10 p.m. Saturday, the family wasn’t discovered until Sunday.

According to officials, there were more than 20 planes that departed the airport on Saturday.

It could take authorities several months to determine what caused the crash, NTSB spokesman Keith Holloway said.

What officials do know is that the plane refueled somewhere in Georgia at 11:30 a.m. and arrived at Williston airport about three hours later, Connolly said. Williston is about 105 miles northwest of Orlando.

Nathan’s sister has started a  GoFundMe to help pay for expenses:

“On Easter Sunday April 16th Nate, his beautiful wife Laura, and 2 of their sons Jaden and Eli died doing what they loved doing when their plane crashed near Williston, Fl. They will all truly be missed. Nate was an awesome controller and pilot! If anyone would like to donate all money will go to their family for funeral/memorial expenses that they need help with right away. They also have one surviving son that was not on board that they’ll set up a scholarship fund for at a later time.  They touched a lot of people in their short time here so let’s take care of their family in their time of need. All funds collected here will be in care of Nate’s sister Megan Sabol.

Sending love over and support from his D10/NATCA family along with many many others.”
