I realize that America is growing more liberal by the day, and we are fighting hard to stop that process. However, reading about the North Carolina restaurant who sang obscenities towards police officers as they tried to eat, made me feel sick to my stomach. It was distasteful, disrespectful, and downright trashy.
Police officers are already bashed and ridiculed on a daily basis, without having to deal with this kind of bullcrap too. Do people not realize that officers are people too? They are simply the ones putting their life on the line to keep the rest of us safe.
Although they removed the original post, which spoke about the incident, the Raleigh Police Department have this post up on their Facebook wall:
“We really appreciate the support we have received from the incident involving Smithfield’s Chicken and BBQ. We are confident that a positive resolution will occur as a result from our effort. Currently, the conversation between some people on the previous posts have deviated from our original mission which was to raise awareness to that particular situation and to show what police officers have to face now on a regular basis. For that reason, we decided to delete the original post.
We believe that all people should be treated with dignity and respect. Our officers do their best to complete this mission every day.
We are comforted that the community at large has our back. We greatly value your continued loyalty and support in the future.
Thanks again and best wishes.
100 Percent Fed Up reports:
The News Observer reported: A North Carolina fast food restaurant has apologized to police in Raleigh after an officer claimed employees sang ‘F*** the police’ while he was eating with his colleagues.
The local police union posted a notice on its Facebook page on Friday ‘thanking’ the Smithfields Chicken & Barbecue Jones Sausage in Garner:
The sarcastic message went on to recognize their ‘class and professionalism as you sang “F*** the police” as my brothers at Raleigh Police Department attempted to eat at your restaurant.’
‘The manager sang along as well. Do you really feel that was appropriate?’ the scathing post continued.
The franchisee did send an apology message to the Raleigh police officers, stating that they are grateful for the men and women of the law enforcement.
While the apology is a nice gesture, I do not think I would be satisfied unless those ungrateful, rude employees and manager were fired like they deserve. What do you think?
