The Glock 19 is one of the most popular handguns on the self-defense market. It’s name is commonly tossed about as one of the best handguns ever made, which also makes its problems glaringly obvious.
Today, the Glock 19 has two main competitors vying for the “best of the bunch” market – the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 Compact (which we talked about last week), and the CZ P-10 C. Both of these guns have features that make some aspect of their designs superior to the Glock 19, but they come up short in other areas which is why the Glock 19 continues to dominate the field.
To help you understand why it is that the Glock 19 continues to be the ultimate fan favorite in the personal defense field, American Rifleman’s Joe Kurtenbach went to the range to showcase the gun’s best features. Kurtenbach also covers some of the gun’s weaknesses, offering an education in how to improve on an already exquisite shooting experience.
