Given the strength and tradition of the Second Amendment, the liberal left has no choice but to latch onto tragedy and emotion in order to make headway in their fight to repeal the right to bear arms.

We have to realize that the Constitution, by which the Second Amendment derives its power, is far more pertinent to American society than the fleeting careers of our public servants.  Furthermore, the Founding Fathers were so wholly adamant in their belief of the inalienable right, that they protected it with some of the sternest language ever written in a government document:

“…Shall not be infringed…”

That right there tells you all that you need to know about the right to bear arms.  It was so intrinsic to the formation and upkeep of a free society, that the greatest nation-building minds in the history of the planet chose to galvanize it with opinion-burying verbiage that is truly impervious to time and the whims of emotional Americans.

Simply put, as much as they writhe against the Second Amendment, the only way the left is going to achieve their “no guns” goal is by inciting a Civil War against gun owners.  And winning that war.

That certainly hasn’t stopped the radical left from attempting to garner support for some sort of “legal” repeal – whatever that would look like – by pushing democratic voters into anti-Constitutional, nigh treasonous behavior.

What’s worse:  The left is employing the Columbine school shooting tragedy in their efforts.

Teenagers in the Denver suburb of Littleton organized a rally Thursday to amp up youth voter registration ahead of November’s midterm congressional elections.

The “Vote for Our Lives” event cites inspiration from the March for Our Lives demonstrations held across the country last month. Both groups want stricter regulations on gun sales in the wake of a school shooting in Parkland, Florida that claimed 17 lives.

“It’s about knowing what you’re voting for, who you’re voting out and who you’re voting in,” said event organizer Madison Rose during an interview with Westword. “We don’t want to tell people what to think, but supply the information so hopefully they’ll form their own opinion.”

The event featured speeches from survivors and family members of recent school shootings, including 20 students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, as well as survivor of the Aurora movie theater shooting and a teacher from Columbine.

This is not an unusual move for the liberal left, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t offensive and uncouth.

We’ve grown accustomed to watching a parade of damaged children preach the anti-gun ethos in recent weeks, with a number of organizations jumping on the bandwagon with no regard for the mental and emotional strain they are putting on these future leaders.  They simply need a face to put with the message, much like the trope of the salesman who puts his family at the forefront of his business deals.

It’s a schtick, and, frankly, we’re a bit disgusted by it.
