It’s not often that we find ourselves reading about a celebrity having a pro-2nd Amendment epiphany, but when it occurs, the experience is often worth reporting.

For many Americans, the 2nd Amendment isn’t necessary.  The leftists and their lax ideas of freedom are unfortunately prevalent throughout the nation, with a particular concentration happening to live and work in the realm of entertainment.

Celebrities and comedians have long stood with the left on the issue of gun control, outwardly hoping to abolish the 2nd Amendment altogether.  These progressive punks will often use their status as a way to exude authority as well, blurring the lines between political proclivity and liberal lunacy.

One entertainer, however, has had a much different experience.

“Comedian Tim Young was robbed at gunpoint in Washington, DC,on January 17 and he emerged from the incident determined to get a concealed carry permit so he does not have to feel such defenselessness again.

“Young was robbed on M Street around 7:45 p.m. The suspects made off with his cell phone.

“He now says he will not allow himself to be in that defenseless position again: ‘When you’re in an instance where there’s a gun is pointed at you and your life is being threatened for your property and no one’s going to help—and now I know that no one’s going to help—I want to feel more secure. I want to feel safe, and I have something to defend myself with.’

“As for people who continue to oppose concealed carry, Young said, ‘I think a lot of those people who are opposed to having a conceal carry permit and being able to own a weapon have never had one pointed directly at them when they have nothing on them.’”

Young’s experience, while terrifying, has led the comedian on a path toward true freedom – the kind that only a reverence for the 2nd Amendment can afford you.

While we would certainly never wish Young’s experience on anyone else, his stark and abrupt change of heart is a wildly important piece of the gun rights puzzle in America.  Firearms create an opportunity for equality in our nation, and it’s unfortunate that Tim Young had to learn this lesson in such a frightening fashion.
