In the wake of the Tragedy in Las Vegas, the Left is Working Overtime to Ban our Guns and Strip Us of our Rights. Don’t Let Them Do It. Find Out How You Can Fight Back by Clicking Here.
It seems like the GOP is preparing to let us all down again.
We should be getting used to this, shouldn’t we? The GOP spends months (sometimes even years) promising us that they’re going to do something for us – whether it’s repealing Obamacare, lowering taxes, cutting regulations, cutting spending, or defending our rights – and then the moment arrives for them to act… and they fail.
It’s our own fault, I guess, we do keep voting for them.
Sadly, voting Democrat just isn’t an option because they’re even worse than the GOP… only the Democrats are worse on purpose!
The latest GOP failure in waiting is the SHARE Act. A provision of the SHARE Act called the Hearing Protection Act, would deregulate suppressors and finally make them more readily available to the law abiding public.
A provision called the Hearing Protection Act, tucked into the bipartisan Sportsmen Heritage and Recreational Enhancement, or SHARE Act, would eliminate restrictions on silencers and instead treat them as ordinary firearms. Under the National Firearms Act of 1934, suppressors – along with “destructive devices” such as grenades or rocket launchers, “sawed-off” shotguns and machine guns – require federal registration and a special license to own, as well as a $200 tax stamp to purchase that would also be repealed under the proposed law.
Sadly, in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting, it seems that the GOP is losing its nerve and preparing to table the vote on the SHARE Act indefinitely.
In the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Tuesday said there are no plans to bring controversial gun silencer legislation to the House floor.
“I don’t know when it’s going to be scheduled. We’re focused on passing our budget,” the speaker said.
Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.), the author of the gun silencers provision in the Sportsmen Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act, told reporters last night that the vote was to be sometime next week, adding “who knows now” after 59 people died and hundreds of others were injured in the nation’s deadliest mass shooting.
The proposed bill and the act of the madman in Las Vegas have nothing in common. There is no correlation. He didn’t use a suppressor, nor could he have considering he was firing as fast and as furiously as possible. (The heavy rate of fire would destroy a suppressor in short order.) None of that matters because the left doesn’t care about facts, they simply care about power and undermining our rights… and the GOP seems prepared to let them keep doing so.
