National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day is coming up soon, and this year in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, one string of gun ranges is doing it right.

This year parents can spend some quality time with their daughters at the Shoot Smart Indoor Gun Range which is hosting its annual “Take Your Daughter to the Range” event at all three of their locations.

The event is for girls between the ages of 8 and 17 and it promotes firearm safety for kids, young women, and their parents. The day begins in the classroom where certified teachers teach the participants about gun safety, the parts of a pistol, how they should grip their gun, how to aim, and how to stand when shooting. Finally the day culminates with some range shooting using a .22 LR caliber handgun.

This year the event will happen at all three of the Shoot Smart locations on various days in August:
Aug. 4 – Benbrook
Aug. 6 – Alliance
Aug. 11 – Grand Prairie
