This is not the way to start a marriage.

Just hours after saying “I do” a pair of newlyweds began arguing. The argument quickly spun out of control and before anyone knew what was going on the blushing new bride had pulled a piece from beneath her dress and had it pointed at her hubby’s face.

Then she pulled the trigger.

Fortunately for her husband, the gun was empty. Unfortunately, the bride had some ammo at hand. She quickly loaded a round and discharged the gun into the air causing those nearby to scatter for safety.

The bride didn’t even get a chance to change out of her wedding dress before she was sent to the local county jail.

“Responding officers let the husband know the honeymoon was over and his new wife was going to jail,” said  Sgt. Kyle Evans with the Murfreesboro Police Department.

Officers were called to the scene by concerned witnesses, one of those witnesses told police that the couple had been drinking heavily and had begun arguing outside of a local Murfreesboro, Tennessee motel called the Clarion Inn.

“Both were very uncooperative with authorities. It was actually a witness who pointed us in the right direction,” Sergeant Evans said. Witnesses said what happened next shocked everyone.

“She pulled out of her wedding dress a 9 mm pistol. Pointed it at her new husband’s head and pulled the trigger,” Evans told the local media. By the time the police arrived the couple had apparently cooled down and they did their best to keep the new wife from getting into trouble… but witnesses made sure the police knew what had happened.

After speaking with a handful of witnesses, the responding officers recovered an empty shell casing and then came across a gun they believed to be the one the bride had been hiding. Evans said that “after the incident, she went to the bathroom and disposed of the weapon hiding it in the bathroom.”

The bride was eventually arrested, and charged with aggravated domestic assault. She posted a $15,000 bond and her case has been handed over to the grand jury.

Like I said, this is not the way to start a marriage.
