At some point in our 240 year history, we have completely lost track of exactly how powerful the Second Amendment is supposed to be in America.

The right to bear arms was once, and could be again, a great equalizer for the people of our nation.  As it stands now, guns are less essential than they may ever have been for everyday life.  A vast majority of Americans don’t hunt for sustenance, and we’ve all but outlawed cash, leading to a decrease in muggings and individual-on-individual crime, which has us far less concerned about carrying a firearm than say, Wyatt Earp was just 150-some years ago.

But, should we choose to exercise our freedom to do so, we shall be allowed to do so without fear of ill-repute.  Unfortunately, the liberal left just won’t stand for it, and their vilification of guns as a whole has inspired a number of their sheep-like followers to commit horrific atrocities against their fellow man in the name of a totalitarian repeal of the right to bear arms.

Take a student at Kent State this week who went viral for open-carrying her AR-10 on campus.  Shortly after coming to prominence on social media, 22 year old Kaitlin Bennett is now receiving death threats.

Bennett said she never expected her tweet to go so viral, and she’s received both messages of support and death threats.

Despite some of the backlash she’s received, Bennett said she has no regrets.

“I would do it again and I wish that I could do it with a fully automatic machine gun. I think that those should be legal. And if I could, I would absolutely do it again,” she said.

As for her post-graduation plans, Bennett said she plans to continue her political activism and she revealed that all the media attention has led to a job offer from Blue Target Firearms, an Ohio firearms store.

And, since we couldn’t extoll praise on Kaitlin without also showing you the pictures…

Kaitlin’s status as a graduate was the key to bypassing the university’s firearms policy, which forbids current students and staff from openly carrying on campus.
