If you thought all Republicans are supportive of the Second Amendment rights of the American people, think again. An Oregon Republican state senator co-sponsored a bill that was passed by the legislature that would allow judges to issue orders to confiscate all firearms in the possession of any individual. Supposedly, it’s designed to disarm people deemed of risk, however, any liberal judge, and Oregon is full of them, could issue such an order based on innuendos instead of actual proof of risk.

Oregon lawmakers passed legislation co-sponsored by Sen. Brian Boquist (R-Dallas) that allows a judge to issue an ex parte ruling for the confiscation of an individual’s firearms.

The bill is SB 719, and it has now passed Oregon’s House and Senate. It creates an Extreme Risk Protection Order, which forces the subject of the order to hand over all firearms, as well as his concealed carry permit if he possesses one.

Imagine a woman who gets mad at her husband and claims abuse when there isn’t any abuse. That would be grounds for a judge to order the confiscation of all of the man’s guns, even without any proof of abuse. Such a law could easily be abused by any ultra-left-winged judge to disarm any conservative, since they often believe conservatives to be dangerous people.
