These are trying times for Americans on both sides of the gun debate, and it is helpful now, more than ever, for firearm retailers to make clear their stance on the legal fights forthcoming.
Triggered by the actions of a maniacal teenager in Florida, the democrats and their cretinous comrades have launched a full-scale assault on the 2nd Amendment. And, in true “resistance” terror fashion, there is nothing off limits in this battle.
The left has repeatedly, and disturbingly, exploited the youth at the center of the tragedy, foregoing any chance of a healthy grief period before being dressed, mic’d, powdered, and thrust on to live television. That pressure alone takes time to adjust to, let alone after losing seventeen of your classmates to the hands of a mentally disturbed dropout.
On the right there is a sense of calm deliberation, however, as conservatives don’t often deal in emotion. Their brand of public service is far more methodical and calculated, and the gravity of each syllable is often measured twice before release.
That’s why it comes as no surprise that firearm retailer Palmetto State Armory has released a very concise statement regarding their support for the 2nd Amendment.
“’To blame the rifle or a high capacity magazine for the actions of an evil man is illogical and is only applied when referring to firearms,’ the company said. ‘When a vehicle is used to commit an act of violence we as a society do not blame the car, we do not blame the speed, or the steering wheel, but rather the driver.’
“In addressing the link between the constitutional right to keep and bear arms and freedom of speech, PSA was clear, saying, ‘We believe that a primary purpose of the Second Amendment is actually to protect the First Amendment.’”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
