When it comes to protecting their young, pistol packing mothers in the south are more feared than even the most ornery grizzly bear.
In what could only be described as one of the most terrifying instances of home invasion in 2018, a mother in Blakely, Georgia returned home to discover that something was amiss. Upon further inspection, she discovered that a convicted sexual predator had made his way into her home and was hiding out in a closet.
Talk about a moment of sheer panic.
Luckily, our brazen and badass matriarch had a plan that included exercising her Second Amendment rights.
“The alleged attacker, 53-year old Michael Lindsey, was a convicted sex offender.
“According to WTVY, Lindsey was found hiding in a closet inside the home. A struggle ensued and the mother held Lindsey off with a spoon before shooting him. Police believe he stumbled out of the house and collapsed on the front lawn after being shot.
“He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
“The mother’s 12-year-old daughter was in the home at the time of the incident.”
That’s right – a spoon.
Without the ability to own and operate a firearm, this young mother could have been facing off against a hardened criminal with a taste for the taboo with only that spoon, leaving all manner of possibilities on the table…none of which are pleasant to ponder.
For those of you considering home defense as a primary reason to exercise your right to bear arms, there are plenty of resources available on the web to help you make the necessary choices, including our own guide to using a scattergun to keep intruders at bay.
Thankfully, both mother and daughter are shaken up but otherwise unharmed.
