After any violent and shocking incident in America, sleazy politicians immediately begin to crawl toward freedom-impinging legislation that can only be passed by exploiting the emotion of the nation.

For example, the use of recoil specific firearms accessories, or “bump stocks”, has come under fire after Stephen Paddock’s October 1st rampage in Las Vegas, where authorities claim that at least one of the rifles used was equipped with just such a device.

In the aftermath of the Las Vegas massacre, democrats and other progressives virtually tripped over themselves and the figurative bodies of those who perished in the attack in order to push their 2nd Amendment-nullifying nonsense.  Soon, “bump stocks” were on the minds of lefty politicians from coast to coast, opening avenues for these liberal lunatics to further infringe on the 2nd Amendment.

Washington State has apparently now joined those dubious ranks.

“The Washington Senate has approved a bill to ban bump stocks, the type of rapid-fire trigger modification that entered the national consciousness after last fall’s mass shooting in Las Vegas.

“The vote for Senate Bill 5992 on Thursday night came as a rare victory at the Washington Legislature for gun-regulation advocates.

“For years, proposed gun laws in Olympia have stalled long before getting a full vote of the Legislature.

“That inaction stands in stark contrast to the new gun laws Washington voters broadly approved at the ballot box in 2014 and 2016.

“On Thursday, four Republicans joined Democrats to approve the bump-stock ban, including Sen. Dean Takko, D-Longview, who previously said he was leaning against the proposal.”

While the move to attack bump stocks was certainly not unexpected, the ferocity with which some locales have proceeded has been alarming.

Of course, this is all due to the wildly inappropriate and predatory behavior of the left.  Sensing the national sorrow after Las Vegas, these gun control twerps swooped in to amplify any voice on the ground that they could, leading Americans to the impression that these recoil-altering devices were somehow a scourge on society.
