Democrats in the state of Washington have been pushing hard to pass a number of strict gun control measures. Earlier this week, a public hearing was held in Olympia, the capital. Many spoke out for gun and against gun control, but it seemed the pro-gun control crowd were louder than gun rights advocates.
Gun control advocates believe after the meeting that they have the momentum to get their anti-gun measures passed in the state legislature. Democrats hold a very narrow margin in the state legislature with a 25-23 seat lead in the Senate and 50-48 seat lead in the House.
(Q13 Fox) – It was a big day when it comes to gun issues in the Legislature.
It was standing room only on Monday as people packed a hearing in Olympia arguing for or against more gun control measures.
Some of the bills talked about are nothing new but what is new is that several of them got heard by a Senate committee for the first time in years now that the Legislature is controlled by the Democrats.
The side that wants more gun control came armed with a busload of people.
“We are not anti-gun, we are anti-gun violence,” said Shawn Terjeson, a volunteer with the Washington chapter of “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.” …
Washington is a fairly liberal state and growing more so day by day, so it would not be a huge surprise to see strict gun control laws passed and imposed on the citizens of the state. Their agenda is ore important to them than the safety of the people and their constitutional right to protect themselves.
