“The toy company that’s making the holidays great again!” — Fox and Friends co-host, Steve Doocy

The ease with which the liberal left is able to divide our nation should be concerning to each and every one of us.

Pushing the Left's divisive narrative even further, (and to make what they hoped would be a big marketing splash), Nike has made Colin Kaepernick the face of their brand.  Unfortunately for the shoe maker, the stock market has responded unkindly to their gamble. Clearly, Nike Inc. was willing to risk the inevitable backlash, which has already begun among some sports fans — #BoycottNike and videos of fans burning Nike gear are already trending online — to promote Kaepernick’s controversial message.

Worse still, Nike’s normalization of Kaepernick’s controversial nature will likely cause a widening of the chasm between the NFL and the American people as well, and with only a few scant days left for the league to remedy their National Anthem protest problem before the 2018 season starts.

There are actual heroes who have played in the NFL, and for whom the advertising slogans used by Nike in this particular campaign would better fit than Colin Kaepernick.

For instance, Pat Tillman.

The Nike ad immediately sparked controversy, with many critics rallying around a different former NFL player: Pat Tillman. Tillman died by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004, two years after he left the NFL to enlist in the military.

Among the people tweeting about Tillman was Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia, who posted a photo of the former NFL player in Arizona Cardinals gear, with the caption: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
