If you were asked to list the top ten cities in the United States with the strictest gun control laws, what cities would you list? Most people instantly think of Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City among their top selections. Baltimore has been labeled as the homicide capital of the US and Los Angeles regularly places in the top two cities for homicides, competing with the Windy City – Chicago.

So far this year, actually as of June 4, 1071 people in Chicago have been shot and 202 of them were killed. Over the Memorial Day weekend, only 38 people were shot with 8 fatalities.

(Breitbart) – Over 1,000 people have been shot in gun-controlled Chicago year-to-date and more than 200 people have been killed.

The Chicago Tribune reports that 1,071 people had been shot as of June 4 and 202 people had been killed. Twenty-nine people were shot and wounded during the past weekend alone and three persons were killed.

Breitbart News reported that 38 were shot, eight fatally, over Memorial Day Weekend 2018. And ABC7 noted that was on par with the number of homicides on that weekend in years gone by…

Illinois has strict gun control and require a state issued FOID (Firearm Owner Identification) card issued by the state and it’s not always easy to obtain a FOID card. Then Cook County has additional gun control laws and to add to the list, Chicago has some fairly strict gun ordinances also. It has been reported that a large part of Chicago’s gun violence is gang related and that gang members don’t obtain their guns through lawful means.
