Has anyone launched a campaign against automobile manufacturers or owners because a number of terrorists and crazies have used cars and trucks to injure and kill people? NO!

So why blame guns for something that is NOT the fault of guns?

The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is launching a new ad campaign that will appear on television nationwide. The campaign is targeting gun owners and focusing on keeping guns locked up and useless – aka safe storage. What they are not understanding is that locked up unloaded gun is useless when someone breaks into a home and threatens those inside.

(NBC [anti-gun] News) – The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, the group behind federal background checks for firearms purchasers, is launching a new ad campaign that is an effort to find common ground in a country divided on the issue of gun control.

The campaign launching Wednesday, finds its way to television via public service announcements facilitated by the Ad Council, and aims to make the term “family fire” a household word as it describes accidental shootings of children and other family members in homes across the nation.

“Rather than mudslinging and name calling, we’re focusing on how can we act to keep our kids alive,” said Kyleanne Hunter, a Brady Center vice president. “And that might open the door to more discussion about how to end gun violence.”

This foot-in-the-door strategy is composed of at least a year’s worth of “End Family Fire” TV, digital and online ads that center on a conversation between an elementary-school aged boy and his father…

What the campaign needs to be targeting is parenting. Many of us grew up with loaded guns in the house and we kids knew where they were and yet you didn’t see the accidental shootings back then. The reason, parents used to teach their kids properly and the public schools also taught respect and obedience. However, none of that is taught these days and many of today’s parents no longer properly teach their kids and that’s what needs to be addressed.
