The media is quick to report any police officer, especially a chief or captain, who comes out in support of gun control. They make it sound like every law enforcement officer in the nation supports more gun control and bans on things like bump-fire stocks and concealed carry weapons, but then the same media wants you believe that America is evil and the main problem with the rest of the world.
However, police officer Sgt. Randy Harkness is thankful for at least one woman with a gun who came to his rescue after he tried to do a good deed for a homeless man, only to have the homeless man turn on Harkness physically attacking him.
(Bearing Arms) – No one in this country argues about armed police officers. Disarming law enforcement isn’t even part of the discussion here, and for good reason. The idea is ridiculous.
However, there are a lot of people who would prefer that police officers were the only ones armed legally, and that actually does include a handful of police officers.
A Dawson County, GA sheriff’s deputy isn’t likely part of that number after what happened to him.

I know a number of men and women in law enforcement and not one of them supports more gun control. They all believe that the more law-abiding citizens are carrying guns and trained to use them, the fewer robberies, physical and sexual assaults there would be in the nation. One female law enforcement officer says she wishes that every woman would be allowed to carry a concealed weapon because the number of rapes would quickly plummet.
