The management of Dick’s Sporting Goods were among the first large store chains to succumb to the anti-gun hysteria created by the mainstream media after the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February. Not long after the shooting, Dick’s announced that they were pulling all assault-style weapons from their stores and creating a company-wide policy not to sell any firearm to anyone under the age of 21. They are currently facing a lawsuit over their age discrimination policy.

In a move that has stunned many pro-gun rights people in the country, Dick’s announced that the are planning on destroying all of those guns they pulled from their stores rather than see them returned to the manufacturer or sold by someone else.

(Fox News) – Dick’s Sporting Goods announced it would destroy all of the unsold firearms it pulled off store shelves in February after the Parkland school shooting.

The sports retailer decided to destroy the rifles instead of returning them to the manufacturer, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported.

“We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change,” a spokesperson from Dick’s Sporting Goods told the media outlet. “We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.”

The rifles will be demolished at distribution centers and then delivered to a salvage company to be recycled. It was not immediately clear how many firearms will be destroyed…

It’s bad enough that Dick’s fell victim to the anti-gun madness created by the mainstream media, but to many, it’s almost criminal to hear that they are planning on destroying many thousands of dollars worth of perfectly good firearms.
