Is there more mass shootings these days or is there just more media hype about shootings that makes it seem as if there are more?

Regardless, the media is busy covering the responses to mass shootings by liberals all over the country calling for more gun control and even a ban on guns. What you rarely see from the mainstream media is coverage given to anyone who reacts to mass shootings by supporting gun rights or taking measures to teach others about guns, gun safety and using guns for self-defense, which is why you probably never heard of Kim Condon, a grandmother in Mississippi who co-founded a firearm training center in response to mass shootings.

(MS News Now) – People have a range of reactions to mass shootings.

A common thought is to learn to better equip yourself for that worse case scenario.

“Anytime something tragic happens on the television, it is a reality check for the public,” noted Kim Condon, co-owner of Boondocks Firearms Training Academy in Raymond. “It makes them wake up and realize, that can happen here.”

Condon said it was a personal realization that sparked the business idea.

“The Aurora theater shooting happened and we take our grandchildren to the movies all the time,” she said. “And something happened and it just hit home with me. A light bulb went off and I realized you know what this world’s just getting crazier by the day.” …

Condon tells people, especially other women, that she’s just a grandmother who realizes that the today’s world is crazy and that danger can present itself anywhere. All she wants to do is to help teach and train others on how to be aware of those dangers and to be prepared to deal with them, with a gun if necessary.
