Hillsong worship songs are among the most listened to on my music playlist. I am dumbfounded that the pastor of Hillsong Church refused to call abortion a sin. Abortion is murder and murder is a sin. What’s the problem?
The skinny jeans and upbeat music makes him seem hip as he talks about Jesus, but if he cannot even admit that abortion is murder, then what exactly is his foundation made of?
Pastor Carl Lentz spoke on The View (yuck) last week with the group of blood sucking, pro-choice feminazis. When asked about his stance on abortion, he bypassed the opportunity to speak about life and instead offered a weak, disgusting, candy-coated response.
Joy Behar asked Lentz, “So, it’s not a sin in your church to have an abortion?”
He replied, “That’s the kind of conversation we would have finding out your story, where you’re from, what you believe. … I mean, God’s the judge. People have to live to their own convictions. That’s such a broad question, to me, I’m going higher. I want to sit with somebody and say, ‘What do you believe?’”
Behar questioned, “So it’s not an open and shut case to you?”
“Some people would say it is,” Lentz lamely responded, “To me, I’m trying to teach people who Jesus is first, and find out their story. Before I start picking and choosing what I think is sin in your life, I’d like to know your name.”
Lentz also said, “I think our job is still to help people — not necessarily change how they think — but try to point them to what God has said, what we believe the Bible [has] to say. We believe that God is good, that God loves everybody, that Jesus was here to set people free, and that’s still the good news of the gospel.”
While it is true that Christians are called to help people, we are also called to preach the gospel and her lead people in the right direction.
Lentz is absolutely not doing that but refusing to condemn abortion as a sin.
