As with any other competitive industry in America, U.S. gun manufacturers gather yearly at a massive trade show to network, share ideas, and schmooze with old and new customers alike.

Given the cultivated and jovial atmosphere of these events, it’s no surprise that a great many of these industry showcases occur in glitzy Las Vegas, Nevada, where clients and vendors can relax together surrounded by unprecedented American freedom and decadence.

This year the SHOT show, the firearm industry’s Woodstock, is once agin back in Sin City, bringing with it a renewed sense of scope given the events of October 1st that occurred just blocks away from the trade show floor.

“About 12 football fields worth of the latest guns, gear and more have arrived in Las Vegas where big reveals will be made for hunting, shooting, law enforcement, military, fishing and more outdoors.

“SHOT Show is the largest show of its kind anywhere on the globe. The Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) is owned and sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

“From rifles, shotguns, pistols and ammo through to crossbows, optics, decoys and outdoor apparel, this is the place where the most exciting new products for 2018 are shown. This is often a first look before they become available to the public and hit store shelves later in the year.

“SHOT Show Industry Range Day is the first day where new products are put through their paces.  More than half a million rounds tend to be fired each year while some attendees get to handle and test the weapons, optics and more.”

Given the enormous size of this industry wide event, there is no doubt that a number of fantastic new products will be making their debut this week, giving those of us with a penchant for the 2nd Amendment something to look forward to in the days to come.
