A young man wearing only his boxer shorts, attacked a woman at an apartment complex. Her neighbor tried to stop the attack when the attacker lunged at her. She fired her gun, striking the attacker in the leg. He then forced his way into her apartment and attacked her, knocking down her 3-year-old son. The first attack victim tried to stop this attack, giving the mom and son a chance to hide in her locked bathroom. Police arrived and arrested the man, whom they believe was on drugs.

Deputies say a Tarpon Springs mother was attacked early Saturday morning by an intruder she had shot just moments before while trying to protect her 3-year-old child and a neighbor.

Investigators believe Daniel Morley, 18, was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he attacked the two women and forced his way into one woman’s condo.

I’ve always been taught never to pull a gun anyone unless you intend to shoot them and if you intend to shoot them to make sure they are incapacitated to the point they can’t fight or shoot back. This mom only wounded the guy in the leg which allowed him to continue his attack. Had there not been intervention, who knows what the drug-crazed guy would have done. Lesson: shoot to kill or don’t shoot at all.
