When you think of being attacked with a pick axe, you probably think of some horror film like Friday the 13th or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Right? Who just runs around attacking people with a pick axe in real life?

Well, here is a story that is wild from start to finish, and is a real life self-defense situation in which the tool was used to attack someone.

A man who heads a homeowners association went to speak with a homeowner about his property, since there had been complaints about the condition of it. However, the talk quickly turned sour and, lets just say that it did not end well.

The local news station reports:

Saturday November 25th Natrona County Deputies were called out Okeepa Drive for a man who had been struck in the head with a pick axe.

Forty-five-year-old Wade Miller, who was the president of the Home Owners Association, visited an owner on Okeepa Drive after numerous complaints about the condition of the property.

The homeowner and Miller began to argue and reports say Miller broke out a glass patio door with a pick axe and hit the owner two or three times with the axe and then attacked him with a gardening spade and wooden post.

The homeowner claims thats what he pulled out his gun which promptly ended the fight. It is not clear though as to whether or not he actually shot the gun or simply produced it, and scared Miller into backing off.

If he had shot, and even killed Miller, it would have been completely justified. I am still trying to figure out how on earth the owner survived being hit in the head with an axe.

Natrona deputies spoke to Miller about the attack and then booked him for aggravated assault and unlawful entry.

I guess it’s safe to say you shouldn’t bring a pick axe to a gun fight.
