Located on the eastern edge of North Dakota, along the Red River, lies Gran Forks and its surrounding metropolitan area, with a population almost reaching 100,000. Once located in downtown North Dakota was Amazing Grains Natural Food Cooperative in a 3,500-square foot store. Sales of organic and natural foods were slumping, causing the grocery store to close in May.

In September, Brothers Firearm Shop announced they had taken over the empty grocery store with plans to open a gun shop in third largest city in the state. Brothers Firearm Shop owns another location in the city and that location just closed leading many to believe that the larger gun store will soon be open for business.

(Grand Rapids Herald) – A Grand Forks firearms business that took over a downtown grocery store could open this month.

Brothers Firearm Shop has been preparing to open at 214 DeMers Ave. for several months.  Brad Brenamen, who owns the gun shop with Travis Chiasson and Adam Pribula, said it could open in less than two weeks.

The gun shop announced in September it took over the 3,500-square-foot space that once was home to Amazing Grains Natural Food Cooperative…

The existing Brothers Firearm Shop had initially said their current store would remain open but after their current Grand Forks location suddenly closed, the company said they had decided not to keep both stores open. They also have another gun shop in East Grand Forks that will stay open. Hopefully, the new and larger downtown location will be a huge success and provide North Dakota residents with a great place to purchase a gun.
