It seems every few months, we read or hear about a pizza delivery driver being robbed or attacked and killed. It’s definitely a more dangerous job than many people realize. The question now facing one pizza delivery driver in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania is whether he will face any charges or lose his job after what happened to him on a routine delivery.

He delivered a pizza to an apartment, collected the money and was returning to his car when he was confronted by 29-year-old Ryan Cornelius Leonard, who had a knife and ordered the driver to hand over his money. Then Leonard stabbed the driver, who made it to his car, retrieved a gun and shot Leonard. Leonard managed to flee down the block, but ended up collapsing and dying on someone’s front steps.

(KDKA) – A man was shot and killed after allegedly attacking a pizza delivery driver in Beaver County.

The car the Domino’s Pizza delivery man was driving was surrounded in evidence markers early Friday morning.

Amanda Blackwell heard commotion outside of an apartment on Second Avenue in Beaver Falls just after midnight.

“I heard the gunshot from my bedroom. I came downstairs and watched him call 911. Went over and asked him if he was okay. He told me he didn’t know and told me to go back in the house until the cops came,” Blackwell said…

Personally, the pizza driver needs to be hailed as a hero for defending his life and getting a dangerous criminal off the street. Imagine how many reports of pizza delivery drivers being attacked and robbed we would hear if most off them had guns and used them like this guy did.
