The American people have repeatedly demanded that their government end the foolish practice of so-called “sanctuary cities” and the illegal immigrant crime that is inherent within these safe havens.

While it is not currently “cool” to speak on the subject of the criminality of a great many illegal aliens, (ironically, they are all technically criminals due to their immigration status), the reality of the situation is affecting a great many U.S. citizens.  Further compounding the issue are liberal cities that have designated themselves as “sanctuary cities” – places where those undocumented residents needn’t fear the rule of law.

In the case of Kate Steinle, who was murdered in the “sanctuary city” of San Francisco by an undocumented immigrant, Americans hoped that a shining example of common sense could be bestowed upon the nation.  Instead, Kate’s killer has been acquitted of her murder in a shocking development.

This didn’t sit well with the Trump administration’s folks over at the Department of Justice, who immediately issued a warrant for the arrest of Kate’s killer on ground that they would like to have him deported.

“The Department of Justice unsealed an arrest warrant Friday for Jose Inez Garcia Zarate on Friday, the illegal immigrant acquitted this week in Kate Steinle’s murder trial.

“Zarate was found not guilty of murdering Steinle on a pier in San Francisco in July 2015. Steinle was walking with her father and a family friend when she was shot, collapsing into her father’s arms.

“The arrest warrant was originally drafted in 2015 and amended this week to include violations related to the charges of a felon in possession of a firearm, involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon, all of which were filed after the defendant’s initial arrest, according to Friday’s warrant.

“Officials at the Department of Justice told Fox News that there is an existing federal detainer that requires Zarate to be remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals to be transported to the Western District of Texas pursuant to the arrest warrant.

“After the verdict, U.S. immigration officials announced late Thursday that Zarate would be deported.”

Where justice is unwilling to challenge the liberal court of public opinion, the Trump administration is enthusiastic about the idea of bringing law and order back to America.

Kate Steinle may never receive the true scope of justice required to ease her family’s pain, but this small act by the DOJ can at least help America find some semblance of closure in the tragedy.
