Tennessee mother, Elsie Lee, scared off five intruders when they attempted a robbery of her Madison County home. All five suspects have been arrested.

WBBJ reports that Lee was asleep when she hared extremely loud noises. She quickly realized that someone was attempting to kick in the door to her home. She said, “We were asleep, and I thought I had heard something but I wasn’t for sure,” Lee continued, “I thought I was just dreaming something, and then I heard a big bang again.”

Like any mother, her primal instincts kicked in and she said that all she could think was, “Protect my son.”

To the surprise of the criminals, she armed herself with both her shotgun and her .45 caliber handgun. Less said, “I got up and came running through the hallway and my gun was sitting on the dog cage, and the guy was standing in the kitchen. He had just busted my door open.”

She continued in the interview, “I put the gun in his face and asked him if there was something I could do for him, and he was gone just that quick. I chased him out the back door trying to look at the tag number on the car, something I could describe other than just him.”

She was ready to kill him if it meant protecting herself and her son. “I almost killed him,” Lee added, “One of them could have been dead. Had he not ran, he would have been dead.”

Yikes. According to police reports the suspects that were arrested are: Quentin Childress, 20, Jaylon Chiles, 18, Amar Johnson, 21, Kendrick McMullin, 19, and one juvenile (name undisclosed)
